Easter Manicure

Happy Easter everybody!

I thought I'd do a nice and simple manicure for Easter, and I found the perfect polish to do this! Models Own (one of my favourite brands!) have recently released their Speckled Eggs range in time for Easter, and blue is my favourite colour, so to use this polish for today was a no-brainer!

I started as usual by applying a base coat (Collection's 2in1 Strengthener & Hardener), and then applied the first layer of polish for my accent nail so that it would be dry in time for me to apply the glitter top coat. The silver polish is 2true in Shade 55. I used 2 coats of this polish as it is quite sheer, as is standard with a lot of shimmer metallics.

I then started applying the polish for the other nails. I used 2 thin coats of Models Own in Duck, a lovely sky blue, and one of the five super pretty polishes in the new Speckled Eggs range! It is a gorgeous range, consisting of five different colours which all contain pieces of matte black glitter. I also own Magpie which is a beautiful mint green, so I will definitely swatch that soon and post some pictures! I am absolutely in love with these polishes!

As I said, two coats was enough, and they dried pretty quickly. I didn't use any top coat as I felt that it would take away from the slight matte finish of the polish (that and I really don't like the top coat I currently own - it's like applying glue to my nails...).

I then applied the glitter top coat to the accent nail. The polish is called Jo Is In The House, and it is by H&M. I have to say this is one of my favourite polishes in my collection. It consists of holographic glitter, making for a gorgeous rainbow effect when in light. I absolutely love anything rainbow-y, and ugh this polish is just the best! I can never stop staring at my nails when I am wearing it! I feel this photo - though slightly blurred - exhibits the sparkly rainbow effect best.

I would absolutely recommend in investing in at least one of the Speckled Eggs range! They are just so pretty, and also quite unique. The other day when I was wearing Duck, my dad saw my nails and went 'ooh look, speckled eggs!', and believe me my dad doesn't know the first thing about nail polish, so the polish definitely lives up to its name and is PERFECT for Easter!

Anyway I am off to go and gorge on chocolate eggs and Sunday dinner, so I hope you enjoyed this manicure! Any feedback would be totally appreciated :) (again, sorry for the photos, I'm having to take them on my phone at the moment as my camera is broken). Happy Easter!
